SGS-TuV / TSSG Joint Conferences
ESCAR USA (~ June 2019) Michigan
ESCAR is the premier professional embedded automotive cybersecurity conference. It is a small, intimate event with less than 1,000 attendees, including representation from nearly all major automotive OEMs and Tier 1-3 component vendors.
Colin and Duncan are acquainted with the organizers and steering committee of ESCAR USA. The likelihood of a talk that we submit being accepted is high. The date of ESCAR USA aligns well with the anticipated release timeline of ISO 21434, thus ESCAR USA will be an opportune time for TSSG and SGS-TUV to jointly present material regarding our automotive cybersecurity certification course and testbed that we discussed.
ESCAR Asia (~ Oct 2019) Shanghai, China
ESCAR Asia presents a similar opportunity to ESCAR USA. The attendance of Asian automotive OEMs at ESCAR USA was limited and will likely be significantly higher at ESCAR Asia, and will likely make it a good opportunity to increase exposure.
ESCAR Europe (~ Nov 2019)
ESCAR Europe presents a similar opportunity to ESCAR USA. The attendance of European automotive OEMs at ESCAR USA was limited and will likely be significantly higher at ESCAR Europe, and will likely make it a good opportunity to increase exposure.
Blackhat USA (~Aug 2020)
Blackhat is considered to be the top professional cybersecurity conference globally, occurring in Las Vegas yearly immediately prior to the DEFCON conference. Blackhat is an outstanding venue to present novel cybersecurity evaluation tools and methodology, and is attended by many executives and leaders from automotive OEMs. A joint presentation at Blackhat USA (and other Blackhat conferences worldwide) will be an excellent opportunity to showcase an ISO 21434 certification capability, a joint automotive cybersecurity testing capability, and a partnership between TSSG and SGS-TUV as an automotive cybersecurity testing house.

DEFCON Hacking conference – August 8-11, 2019 Las Vegas
1) Members of the TSSG team will be attending DEFCON 27. Duncan will be helping run the Car Hacking Village (and does so every year). DEFCON is an excellent venue to meet and recruit new technical talent and to meet executives in search of technical assistance. Karol should plan to attend if possible.
2) TSSG team members have presented at the following events since September 2018
a. Hack the Capital 2018
b. FBI Panel on Vehicle Telematics Systems
c. Maryland Clean Energy Summit
d. US DOD 18.3 SBIR Test & Evaluation Webinar by ByteCubed
